View Full Version : 2006 Harley Ultra Classic wont charge

My 06 Ultra Classic has been serviced regularly and only have 52k miles on it. Anytime that I ride my bike the voltage goes down to about 9 and the check battery light immediately turns on. If I pull over and let the bike rest a few the voltage signal turns off but and then it seems fine for the next while of riding. I recently tried to push it when the battery light was on and after a few moments of driving the voltage started to come back and was fine again. What would cause this problem? I have checked the battery as well as the cables and everything seems to be working fine?

You have a lose ground somewhere

Check wires going to voltage regulator, put dialect grease on contacts.check wires going to you stator where they go into the primary.
Could have a wire grounding out.if that doesn’t work.
Take to shop and get them to test it to see if your stator is bad and have them check regulator.
