    Blister

Something new happened. I got a huge blister on my right heel. Got it after a 176 mile ride last Sunday. For most this is only an inconveinance. As a diabetic its it's incredibly dangerous. It happened once before and took 8 months to heal. It's also the reason I bought a trike to mitigate this issue. I'm wondering if maybe my heel was touching the engine and maybe that's what happened, but to be honest I have no clue. Just asking to see if any others may have experienced a similar issue.

OH CRAP MAN, YOU GOT IT !

Not really but take care of it. Now days I'm thinking that going to the Doctor would be a scary time.
    Be safe.

Thanks I am an old hand when it comes to wounds. I had a surgery that took 3 years to close. Then last year I lost the entire left foot ball from a blister. It was huge. Then it got infected, then I found I am allergic to several antibiotics and broke out in bloody sores everywhere. The scars make me look like an appaloosa human. Blister but because of all these open wounds the wound nurse at the VA says I am more knowledgable than most nurses. But my wife is so sick from a really bad vasculitis thats chronic and has her bed ridden I will not be going to any hospital anytime soon.

Ok found this for all you diabetic bikers out there
DEI Powersports I bought the titanium next gen heat shield. And just to be safe I bought heat wrap from DEI and bought the floorboard extensions from DK customs. I will keep apprised of the final product and how it works once my blister heals. Can't risk going out until then.

Ok this shows the change. The wrap fit nicely under the chrome shield. The DEI shield you can see on the rear pipe. Not beautiful but not grossly ugly either. But it keeps my heal from hitting the back pipe. With the extra inch on the floorboards it keeps air circulating. I drove it last weekend for 5 hours and checked several times. I can touch the shield when at operating temp, with my bare skin of my hand. So I truly recomend the combination for anyone wanting to cool things down on the pipes.

Keep it clean with soap and water daily, and antibiotic ointment. Elevate affected extremity and stay off it.

Most of it has healed. Staying off it is impossible as I am my wife's caretaker. For anyone who is having a similar issue I recomend wrapping the pipes and installing the dk customs floorboard relocation kit.
