Considering purchasing a 2012 FXDWG need help

Hi all. I am considering the purchase or the Dyna Wide Glide.

I have always had road bikes. Ducati mainly. And I have always looked at the Harley as a bike that simply doesn't go, stop or turn.

However, as I am nearing the magical mark of a 50 year old, I am beginning to consider safety, comfort and lifestyle more in my selection. I am riding a Multistrada for group and club rides. I still plan to keep this until I am convinced of the HD.

I like the look of the Dyna Wide Glide more than any other HD. Here are my questions I need help with.

Is the Dyna Wide Glide considered a sort after model?

Is the 2012 spec a good model?

Will the bike offer comfort in touring. The one I am considering also has a touring seat and sissy bar option.

The bike has a ecu, pipes and screaming Eagle set up. Is this enough power?

Bike also has a progressive spring rear end upgrade. Is this required?

Do I need to do any other "must do" mods.

Thank you in advance for help

I think that would be a great bike a lot of questions you ask are purely personal preference.

It's a popular model and from what you are describing would be a great fit for yah. It is great that you are putting in the research on this. Your first hd is always an important one.

I am 66, been riding bikes since 1963, and just purchased a 2012 a beautiful, comfy, great FXGWG! I've had Vulcan 2000, Meanstreak, and all the rest. I must say my WG is quick, nimble, beautiful and easy to ride. I have a fused spine and it's comfy also. GOOD CHOICE!

If your main riding is touring, I would consider going with one of the touring models instead of a sport bike.
