    Stereo for 2012 FLHX

So Iím looking for a stereo for the ole Street Glide. Iím not looking for anything super fancy but hereís what I would like....

    1. Speakers to be about 50% better than stock.
    2. Bluetooth capable.
    3. Total cost of about 250ish.

Is this doable? I commute to work (45 miles each way) and just want something a little nicer that I can hear better and something that doesnít require me to plug into my phone.

    Thanks.

Aquatic AV AQ-MP-5BT-H. Itís a little over your price point, but it has built-in Bluetooth and that particular model is specific for Harleys so it will directly integrate with your handlebar controls for the radio. Should be plug-and-play.

    Awesome. Thanks.

What speakers should I use? Do I have to have an amp?

Looks like it will either run 4ohm speakers (common for aftermarket) or it will run 2ohm speakers (Harley stock). Im not sure what the factory radio power output is. From
My experience with DIY car upgrades, usually any aftermarket radio will have better power output than factory which usually (not always) translates to louder volume even with stock speakers. Sometimes though you lose some clarity or worst case realize the stock speakers just arenít any good. If your primary goal is to not plug in your phone, Iíd start with just the stereo and leave the speakers alone. Youíre probably looking at at least a few hundred bucks for a good set of aftermarket speakers even if you donít get an amp. If you have money to burn though I hear Rockford Fosgate speakers and amp for Harley are really good.

Just hooked up this stereo and it sounds awesome! I got the Hog Tunes speakers (no amp) and itís much better.

Quick question the, my right handle bar buttons donít work. The volume on the left works fine but the right side is not. Any guidance?

I found a manual for the radio that says some Harley models may require additional steps for everything to work but it doesnít say which models or what the steps are. It sounds like itís probably just settings adjustments. If you have already verified that the plug is fully seated in the radio, I recommend checking with Aquatic AV directly or with the vendor you purchased the radio from.
