    What causes oil leaks

It worries me that at times I have parked my bike in the garage and when I check in the morning, it has marked the ground with some oil. Most of the time, I will call my mech and he will fix it but I have never bothered to check what the cause normally is. What is the worst that could happen as a result of persistent oil leaks?

It is always annoying when I realize that my motorcycle is leaking oil. You may want to check the wet primary chain cases and properly seal them. Whenever my mech is around, I always ensure that I am checking everything he is doing on my bike. It is good to always monitor rather than leaving it all to them.

My bike used to get a lot of oil leaks but I fixed it fast by taking it to a dealership. I think most of the mechanical problems that we experience with our motorbikes could be simple things that we can fix on our own.

As Malcolm said just check the primary chain cases. I think it's a good idea to run over the basics. Anything else and just take it in for checking. Most times the problems aren't major but you have to be sure to be mindful when you start loosening parts.

Engines leak sometimes, I'm not sure it's always a big problem. I'd had an engine leak and just before I took it in for checking the leak disappeared. It then came back before disappearing for a long while.

I wouldn't take chances with an oil leak. If I cannot quickly figure out the problem, it is better to take it for service and repair. It is even worse if it is a problem that is recurring.
