Tank lift 2” fuel issue ?

I installed a 2” tank lift. I had to swap out cross over hose. The new cross over hose that i installed with the kit is much longer then the oem. I could cut the hose down an inch or 2 so it’s almost straight. I did have to
Pull on the vent hose to connect it to the tank .

Could it be the vent hose or the crossover hose causing the bike to sound like it needs fuel ?
